Aug. 29 (Bloomberg) -- French banks will hire 30,000 people this year, Journal du Dimanche said today, citing an interview with BNP Paribas SA Chief Executive Officer Baudouin Prot.
BNP’s merger with Fortis will enable it to build its services for export companies in the 20 European countries where the bank is now present, the newspaper cited Prot as saying.
BNP will open new housing loan branches in France as part of its efforts to “reboot” the sector, Prot said, according to the newspaper.
