Aug. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Fiat SpA has no plans to sell Alfa Romeo, a spokesman said, declining to be identified by name because it’s against company policy.
Volkswagen AG would be interested in purchasing Alfa Romeo should it become available to buy, Automobilwoche reported today, citing an unidentified high-ranking Volkswagen manager. Alfa Romeo could support VW’s growth strategy, the manager said.
VW spokesman Michael Brendel said the Wolfsburg, Germany-based carmaker doesn’t comment on market rumors.
