Edgar Davids May Return to Soccer at Crystal Palace: Roundup

Crystal Palace wants to sign former Holland, Ajax and Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids on a pay-as-you-play contract, the Daily Mirror reported.

The 37-year-old, who has been without a club since 2008, is keen to settle in London and may start training with the team as early as today, the newspaper said.

McClaren May Bid for Babel

Steve McClaren, the former England coach who now manages Wolfsburg, is preparing a 9 million-pound bid for Liverpool’s Ryan Babel, the Daily Mirror reported. Negotiations between the clubs to bring the Dutchman to Germany are “at an advanced stage” the paper said.

Everton’s Izmailov Deal

Everton is on the brink of signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Marat Izmailov for 4 million pounds, the Daily Mail reported.

N’Zogbia for France?

Marseille may sign winger Charles N’Zogbia from Wigan after he fell out with coach Roberto Martinez, the Mail reported.

The French team needs to strengthen its attacking options, the Mail added.

Parker to Liverpool?

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson may make a new bid for West Ham captain Scott Parker if Javier Mascherano leaves Anfield, the Daily Mirror reported.

Liverpool has yet to receive any firm offers for Mascherano, who wants to leave the club. The Argentine has sparked interest from Inter Milan and Barcelona.

Parker, 30, has yet to sign a five-year contract offered by West Ham.
