Wang May Succeed Liao as China Hong Kong Head, Morning Post Says

Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Wang Guangya, China’s ambassador to the United Nations from 2003 to 2008, may replace Liao Hui as director of the country’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, the South China Morning Post said, citing unidentified people close to the situation.

Wang, 60, is the son-in-law of the late Chen Yi, a former marshal and foreign minister, the Hong Kong-based English-language newspaper reported today. Liao, 68, will remain a member of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee and vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Post said.
