Georgetown University Names Ex-Colombian President Uribe Scholar

Former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe will join Georgetown University’s school of foreign service as a distinguished scholar, the Washington-based university said in a statement.

Uribe, who left office this month after eight years, will teach seminars on international relations, according to the Georgetown statement.

Uribe, who as president received over $500 million a year in American anti-narcotics and counterinsurgency aid, is also partaking in a United Nations panel investigating Israel’s raid on a Gaza-bound humanitarian aid flotilla.
