Aug. 5 (Bloomberg) -- France’s CAC 40 Index rose 3.47, or less than 0.1 percent, to 3,764.19 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris. The SBF 120 Index also gained less than 0.1 percent.
The following companies’ shares were among the most active in French markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.
BioAlliance Pharma SA (BIO FP) rose 2.7 percent to 5.80 euros. The biopharmaceutical company said Gilles Avenard resigned as deputy chief executive officer. The board named Pierre Attali as chief operating officer.
Lagardere SCA (MMB FP) rose 4.3 percent to 29.45 euros. France’s biggest publisher was raised to “buy” from “hold” at Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc.
Schneider Electric SA (SU FP) rose 1.3 percent to 92.20 euros. The world’s biggest maker of circuit breakers was raised to “buy” from “add” at AlphaValue.
Total SA (FP FP) increased 0.7 percent to 40.55 euros. The French oil company’s bid to acquire OMV AG’s chain of gas stations in eastern Germany is lawful, a German court said yesterday, rejecting an earlier veto of the deal over antitrust concerns.
