The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index fell 86.71, or 0.3 percent, to 28,540.46 in Johannesburg.
Control Instruments Group Ltd. (CNL SJ): The maker of electronic components for cars said its loss per share in the six months through June 30 is expected to decline by between 75 percent and 90 percent from an 8.75 cents loss per share a year earlier. Control’s shares rose 4 cents, or 4.9 percent, to 85 cents.
Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI SJ): Africa’s second-largest gold producer is scheduled to report fourth-quarter earnings. The shares increased 1.72 rand, or 1.7 percent, to 103.49 rand.
Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. (KIO SJ): The unit of Anglo American Plc (AGL SJ) has an obligation to supply the steel-making ingredient from its Sishen mine to ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd. at a “competitive developmental price,” South African Trade Minister Rob Davies said in an interview. Kumba’s shares fell 41 cents, or 0.1 percent, to 371.59 rand.
Liberty Holdings Ltd. (LBH SJ): The insurer controlled by Africa’s largest bank, said its first-half earnings per share was 3.72 rand compared with a loss of 4.83 rand a year-earlier. Liberty’s shares fell 1 rand, or 1.3 percent, to 77.50 rand.
Moneyweb Holdings Ltd. (MNY SJ): The Internet and radio news company will sell 30.8 million new shares to Caxton and CTP Publishers and Printers Ltd. (CAT SJ) at 68 cents each to raise 20.9 million rand ($2.9 million). Shares in Moneyweb were unchanged at 47 cents.

(DROOY US) gained 3 percent to $4.12. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) rose 2 percent to $14.14. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) advanced 2.2 percent to $10.69. Impala Platinum Holdings (IMPUY US) rose 2.6 percent to $27.90. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) rose 0.4 percent to $4.82. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) climbed 1.3 percent to $40.67.
