French Stocks: Arkema, CNP Assurances, Suez Environnement Move

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- France’s CAC 40 Index fell 4.52, or 0.1 percent, to 3,747.51 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris. The SBF 120 Index also declined 0.1 percent.

The following companies’ shares were among the most active in French markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.

Arkema SA (AKE FP) gained 5.5 percent to 36.89 euros, the stock’s highest price in more than two years. The chemical producer said full-year earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization will nearly double in 2010.

CNP Assurances SA (CNP FP) fell 3.4 percent to 15.57 euros, erasing yesterday’s advance. The insurance company will invest 86.5 million euros ($114.5 million) in a 65 percent stake in MFPrevoyance, a subsidiary of mutual insurance group MFP Services, which will provide insurance to French civil servants.

Suez Environnement Co. (SEV FP) increased 1.6 percent to 15.18 euros, the shares’ highest price since May 18. Europe’s second-largest utility said its Agbar unit won a contract valued at 980 million euros in sales over 50 years to provide water to the city of Calvia in Spain.
