July 15 (Bloomberg) -- Rustem Khamitov, an executive at OAO RusHydro, was appointed as acting president of the Bashkortostan republic by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the Kremlin press service said in a statement today.
Medvedev accepted the resignation of Murtaza Rakhimov from the post, the Kremlin said.
Khamitov is currently the deputy chairman of the management board of OAO RusHydro, the state-run hydropower utility.
