July 12 (Bloomberg) -- Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was fined $100,000 by the National Basketball Association for his comments about LeBron James, who left Cleveland to join the Miami Heat.
NBA Commissioner David Stern disclosed the fine during the league’s owners meetings in Las Vegas.
Gilbert called James’s decision, which was disclosed during a nationally televised program, a “shameful display of selfishness and betrayal.”
