July 7 (Bloomberg) -- Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, one of the 18 primary dealers that trade directly with the Federal Reserve, has hired John Briggs as an analyst.
Briggs, 35, will serve as senior vice president and U.S. Treasury strategist in RBS’s Global Banking & Markets division, according to Michael Geller, a spokesman for RBS in Stamford, Connecticut. He will report to William O’Donnell, head of U.S. Treasury trading in Stamford. Aaron Kohli left the firm in April to work for Nomura Holdings Inc., another primary dealer.
Previously, Briggs was a proprietary trader at BWT Professional Trading and a senior portfolio manager at Prologue Capital. Before that, he worked at Capra Asset Management for 11 years in a variety of posts, including head trader.
“John brings a top-notch macro outlook, experience and in-depth analytical skills,” O’Donnell said.
