June 7 (Bloomberg) -- Daunte Culpepper, a former Pro Bowl quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, signed with the United Football League.
Culpepper, 33, will play for the Sacramento franchise and be reunited with former Vikings coach Dennis Green.
“When the opportunity came for me to sign with the UFL and play for Coach Green in Sacramento I could not resist,” Culpepper said in a statement released by the league.
Culpepper made three Pro Bowls for the Vikings and has also played for the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.
The UFL is a five-team independent professional football league that began play in 2009.
