The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 to tie the National Hockey League Stanley Cup final at two games each.
The teams move to Chicago for Game 5 in the best-of-seven series on June 6.
Ville Leino gave the Flyers a 4-1 lead early in the third period tonight before the Blackhawks rallied on scores by Dave Bolland and Brian Campbell to come within one goal. Jeff Carter added an empty-net goal for the Flyers with 25 seconds left in the game.
Mike Richards started the Flyers’ scoring with a power-play goal. Matt Carle added a second goal and Claude Giroux scored with 37 seconds left in the first period to put Philadelphia ahead 3-1. Patrick Sharp gave the Blackhawks their first-period goal.
The attendance of 20,304 was the largest crowd ever to watch a hockey game at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, surpassing the previous record of 20,297 set during Game 3 on June 2.
