June 1 (Bloomberg) -- Marian Hossa and Ben Eager scored goals 28 seconds apart late in the second period to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup final.

The win last night gives the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

After a scoreless first period, Hossa scored with less than three minutes left in the second period, followed by Eager at the United Center in Chicago. Antti Niemi had 32 saves for the Blackhawks, stopping 14 shots in the final period.

Simon Gagne scored a power-play goal 5:20 into the third period to give the Flyers their only score. Philadelphia goalie Michael Leighton had 24 saves.

The teams travel to Philadelphia for Game 3 of the series tomorrow.
