May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Daunte Culpepper, a former Pro Bowl quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, is close to signing with the United Football League, ESPN.com reported, citing people familiar with the situation.
Culpepper, 33, would play for the Sacramento franchise and be reunited with former Vikings coach Dennis Green, ESPN said.
Culpepper made three Pro Bowls for the Vikings and has also played for the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.
The UFL is a five-team independent professional football league that began play in 2009.
