May 16 (Bloomberg) -- Sweden’s Peter Hanson beat Alejandro Canizares of Spain in a playoff to win golf’s Iberdrola Open in Mallorca for a first European Tour success since August 2008.
Hanson, 32, who claimed his victory at the first extra hole, had tied with Canizares on 6-under-par 274 after both hit final rounds of 4-under today.
The Swede picks up a check for 133,300 euros ($164,800), with Canizares taking prize money of 88,880 euros. James Kingston of South Africa was third, four shots back.
