Pakistan’s D.G.Khan Cement Starts Power Production to Save Cost

May 14 (Bloomberg) -- D.G. Khan Cement Co., Pakistan’s second-biggest maker of the building material, said it will save 400 million rupees ($4.74 million) a year through producing electricity from waste heat generated by its plant.

D.G. Khan has begun producing 8 to 9 megawatts of electricity which will be increased to 10.4 megawatts without the use of fuel, it said in a statement to the Karachi Stock Exchange today. The cost of the project is 2.2 billion rupees.
