KBW Hires Morgan Stanley’s Ronny Rehn for Banking Research

May 7 (Bloomberg) -- Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc. hired analyst Ronny Rehn to head its equity research team for Nordic, eastern European and Italian banks in London.

“Ronny is a great analyst,” Vasco Moreno, head of KBW’s London unit, said in a telephone interview yesterday. “He will be a very good addition to our research team.”

Rehn, 30, resigned May 4 after more than five years at Morgan Stanley, where he covered European banks including UniCredit SpA, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, Commerzbank AG, Deutsche Postbank AG and Erste Group Bank AG. He will start at KBW on Aug. 23, Moreno said.

Before Morgan Stanley, Rehn worked as an analyst for UBS AG. Rehn, a native of Dresden, Germany, has a degree in banking and finance from the University of Dresden.

Sebastian Howell, a spokesman for Morgan Stanley in London, said the bank plans to replace Rehn.
