South Africa’s ANC Adjourns Malema Hearing to May 11, Sapa Says

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress adjourned a disciplinary hearing against Julius Malema, the leader of the party’s youth wing, till May 11, the South African Press Association reported, citing Derek Hanekom, the chairman of the ANC disciplinary committee.

Malema was present at the meeting, which ended at 4:30 p.m in Johannesburg, the Johannesburg-based news service cited Hanekom as saying. Malema was represented by ANC Treasurer Mathews Phosa, Hanekom told Sapa.

The ANC won’t comment on the hearing until it has been completed, Brian Sokutu, a spokesman for the organization, told Sapa.
