May 2 (Bloomberg) -- Spain’s Alvaro Quiros beat England’s James Morrison in a playoff today to claim the Spanish Open golf title in Seville.
Quiros and Morrison finished the final round tied on 11-under-par 277, one shot ahead of Alejandro Canizares of Spain, France’s Raphael Jacquelin and Mark Foster of England.
Quiros, the highest-rated player in the field at No. 35 in the world rankings, last won on the European Tour at the Qatar Masters in 2009.
Morrison came in to contention today with a 5-under final round. He won on his last start three weeks ago at the Madeira Open.
