Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, has been ubiquitous campaigning for John McCain, making the simultaneous point that business leaders and women can support him and running-mate Sarah Palin.
Yet she says neither Palin nor McCain has the experience to hold down her old job.
"No, I don’t," Fiorina said. "But you know what, that’s not what she’s running for." Running a corporation, she went on to explain, is different than running the country, and she compared Palin's experience favorably to Barack Obama's. Later, asked on MSNBC about the comment, she elaborated: "Well, I don't think John McCain could run a major corporation." (Neithercould Obama or Biden, she added. "A major corporation is not the same as being the president or the vice-president of the United States," Fiorina continued. "It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company."
