Generational Tension on the Small Screen

It’s not often I get the chance to refer to PerezHilton (a guilty pleasure!) but he picked up an item about CBS bringing back The Streets of San Francisco, drawing parallels between the ’70s and current times. He quotes writer Sheldon Turner: “The times are very similar — it was the Vietnam War in the 1970s and the Iraq War now. There is the same sort of tension between generations, and we wanted to carry that to the new series.” I know it looks like I am on a TV binge, with the recent post about Mad Men, but it just seems further proof that the more things change, the more they remain the same.
