Yahoo (YHOO) posts $0.11 vs. $0.11 third quarter EPS (GAAP) despite a 19% revenue rise. It says it is not satisfied with results. Cash flow from operating activities fell 11%. It sets a $3 billion stock buyback.
Motorola (MOT) posts $0.29 vs. $0.68 third quarter EPS from continuing operations as higher costs and the absence of gains on sales of investments offset a 17% sales rise. It says third quarter sales were slightly below company guidance. It also sees fourth quarter sales of $11.8 billion to $12.1 billion.
Nuveen (JNC) Posts lower-than-expected $0.56 (including $0.04 in items) vs. $0.54 third quarter EPS on a 15% revenue rise.
Novellus Systems (NVLS) posts $0.57 vs. $0.17 third quarter EPS (GAAP) on 31% higher sales.
Mellon Financial (MEL) posts $0.54 vs. $0.47 third quarter EPS on a 39% rise in interest revenue.
Con-Way (CNW) posts $1.24 vs. $1.13 third quarter EPS from continuing operations despite flat revenue. It sees fourth quarter EPS from continuing operations of $0.81-$0.87, on a tax rate of 38%.
Keane (KEA) posts $0.13 vs. $0.14 third quarter on a 3.2% revenue drop. It sees $230 million to $235 million fourth quarter revenue and $0.10-$0.12 EPS.
