Treasuries Rise Modestly As FOMC Leaves Rate Unchanged

MARKETSCOPE Treasuries rose modestly as the FOMC kept the federal funds rate target unchanged at 5.25%, as expected, with member Lacker again dissenting... The Fed noted moderation in economic growth appears to be continuing, as reflected by cooling housing market, but some inflation risks remain... 10-year note edged up 02/32 to 101-06/32 for a yield of 4.72%... 30-year bond rose 07/32 to 94-21/32 for a yield of 4.84%... The 10-year yield touched an intraday trough of 4.709%, its lowest since late March... Equities were holding onto gains as the bond market closed... October WTI crude oil tumbled $1.20 to $60.46, its lowest close since March 21.
