The city building genre requires players to leap into a setting headfirst, and lead it without knowing anything about this civilization before doing so. It's a tough job, and only the best of games make it both easy to learn and still challenging after the first city has been built. Glory of the Roman Empire handles the task well, approaching it in a way which, while lacking some depth and complexity, holds a lot of fun and adventure for both those new to this city building idea and just enough strategy and new content to hold the attention of seasoned pros. Not the best looking, and certainly not for the impatient, Glory of the Roman Empire gets the job done in a unique and enjoyable way.
