The definitive motorcycle racing game, this is not. The problem with MotoGP 4 is that it does little to signify itself from previous MotoGP releases by the Namco team, nor does it have the extra oomph to really push it beyond what Sony did with their own Tourist Trophy project. Regardless, this motorcycle-fueled effort still gets a thumbs up due to its well-kept gameplay and its multiplayer aspect, in which eight players can hop on and work their way to a Moto GP championship. It's nothing groundbreaking, but at least it's functional, and that's better than most racing games accomplish.
