RBC Capital Cuts QLogic to Sector Perform

Analyst Thomas Curlin feels sentiment in the stock already reflects likely upside

RBC Capital downgraded QLogic (QLGC) to sector perform from outperform.

Analyst Thomas Curlin says the company's $130.5 million revenue and 21 cents non-GAAP EPS beat Street consensus estimates of $127.9 million and 18 cents EPS. He maintains his non-GAAP first quarter EPS estimate at 20 cents and his fiscal year 2007 (ending March) at 83 cents. He says the execution fully recovered from three consecutive quarters of negative forecast revisions in calendar year 2005. He keeps his $19 12-month target and assumes potential downside to $12 on below consensus execution, as well as upside to $24 on above consensus execution. He assumes upside is more likely, but feels sentiment in the stock already reflects this.
