A disaster could strike your micro-business at any time. To prepare for disasters ranging from natural causes to burglary, make sure you have answers to these questions:

• Do you have your computer information backed up? • Do you have a list of your customers’ contact information that you can access offsite? • Do you know your competitors in the surrounding area, which may be able to service clients while you recover? • What are the tools of your trade, and how can you buy or rent them quickly? • Does your homeowner’s insurance policy cover business losses? • Has someone else read and evaluated your plan? • Have you refreshed the plan in the last year? • Do your employees know the disaster plan?
