Bill Gates gave an interview to the blog Engadget and it's suddenly news. It shouldn't be, really. It simply makes sense for a company to figure out what the influential blogs are and include them in the group of publications the company talks to regularly.
On a tangent, we have gotten some flak for playing up the impact of blogging in our recent magazine story. The line of criticism is that blogs are simply an evolution of publishing and community that online services have made possible, lo, these many decades. Yes. Exactly. And the most important thing, it seems to me, about evolution is learning to adapt.
