Randy wrote this to me in an effort to show me how silly it is to worry about online bank account hijacking:
"Linking accounts online is no worse than using your Debit card at a retailer. Both provide access to your account information and your money. I suppose you do not use a Debit card as well."
Truth is, I don't use a debit card either for exactly the same reason -- fear that it will expose my bank account to risk. I have a debit card, supplied by my bank, but I just use it at the ATM machine.
Is this rational behavior? Maybe not, given that almost every transaction is converted into digits and transmitted electronically at some stage or other. It does make me feel a bit more secure, however.
