Sen. Kerry emerged from the 2004 campaign in better shape political shape than he was at the start. So far, Democrats have treated him the way New Yorkers treated the Yankees after they lost the World Series. Supporters want him to tune up the roster and get back on the field. Kerry indicated he might oblige them and stay in the game, according to The Washington Post. (registration required.)
Based on the Post story, it seems that Kerry already is making an effort to let his faith come through and connect with religious voters: "Sometimes God tests you," Kerry told the crowd at H20, a restaurant on the Potomac waterfront, according to an aide. "I'm a fighter, and I've come back before."
I fully expect the 2008 campaign to play like a Charlton Heston movie.
