Having trouble finding good help? Almost all entrepreneurs are. Since their shallower pockets make it hard to match bigger companies' salaries, more small companies are adding perks (chart), especially low-cost "workstyle" benefits such as telecommuting. But many aren't even trying to compete for workers. A recent poll by American City Business Journals Inc. found that although 95% of small companies have some labor problems, 53% are doing "nothing in particular" to find and keep workers.
