In "The Lamborghini of laptops" (Technology & You, July 13), Stephen H. Wildstrom asserts that Apple Computer Inc.'s "Think Different" slogan is ungrammatical. Actually, the slogan is perfectly grammatical, if terse. Apple is trying to tell people what to think, not how to think. The word "think" thus does not need an adverb.
Wildstrom's point, however, is well taken. Apple does need a portable that is small and geared toward the mobile business person. There is much speculation that Apple will announce such a small portable later this year. The market is telling Apple to "Think Thin."
