I was surprised to find my hometown, Klamath Falls, Ore., mentioned in "Try as they might, the dead seldom rise" (Special Report, Sept. 11). You may be interested to know that Weyerhaeuser Co. is alive and well--and employing 676 people in the Klamath Falls area. We also have an airport, used jointly by the Oregon Air National Guard.

Approximately 45,000 people live and work in Klamath Falls and its suburbs. Four new operations are in the process of settling into the area: Shilo Inns, International Paper, Sykes Enterprises, and Supply One. To paraphrase Mark Twain: The report of our death has been greatly exaggerated.
