GE AIRCRAFT ENGINES MAY BE nearing daylight in its 18-month-old false claims litigation. The suit, brought by GE engineer Ian Johnson and joined a year ago by the Justice Dept., alleges that many of the company's engines didn't meet contract specifications because of faulty electrical bonding. Now, the parties have told the judge that they have an agreement in principle to settle the key charges, which could be finalized at a July 13 hearing. The terms of the agreement are still under discussion.
