Wuxi Suntech to Invest $2.5 Billion in Japan Solar, Nikkei Says

Wuxi Suntech Power Co. plans to invest as much as $2.5 billion to build solar stations and will sell the power generated to utilities in Japan, the Nikkei newspaper reported today, citing Chief Executive Officer Eric Luo.

The company plans to expand the business through its Japanese unit and aims to have as much as 1,000 megawatts in capacity, according to the report.
