Moffett Says Telecom Structural Separation Questionable (Audio)

Craig Moffett, founder and partner at MoffettNathanson analyzes Sprint earnings, saying fundamentally Sprint will have to cut its retail prices – something management acknowledged in the conference call. Moffett says Sprint’s spectrum in a high-frequency band needs aggressive investment in a high-frequency network and it’s questionable that that’s economically advantageous. Moffett also says Windstream’s plan to spin parts of its telecommunications network into a publicly-traded REIT presents challenges for companies that want to treat physical-transmission assets as real estate for tax efficiency. Moffett speaks with Bloomberg’s Kathleen Hays and Vonnie Quinn on Bloomberg Radio’s "The Hays Advantage."
