Astonfield Wins 4 Megawatts of Solar Plants in Mauritius

Astonfield Renewables Resources Ltd. won contracts to build two solar-power plants totaling 4 megawatts in Mauritius.

Astonfield, which has offices in the U.S. and India, expects to invest $8.2 million in the projects awarded by the Indian Ocean island nation’s Central Electricity Board as part of a 10-megawatt auction, according to an e-mailed statement from the company.

The first 2-megawatt project will be located in La Gaulette. The second, which Astonfield will develop with local partner Alteo Energy Ltd., will be built in Union Flacq.
