The Melowind project in the Cerro Largo department near the Brazilian border will cost about $98 million, the Enel SpA unit said in a statement today.
Enel is focusing its clean energy investments in emerging markets such as Latin America. Uruguay aims to install 1,200 megawatts of wind capacity by 2015, according to the company.
