Tractebel Energia SA (TBLE3) will receive 36 ECO 122 wind turbines capable of generating 2.7 megawatts each for its Trairi II wind farm in the northeastern Ceara state, Alstom said in a statement in its website today. Alstom has 13 percent share of the wind turbine market in Brazil, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
The agreement includes a 10-year operation and maintenance contract. Equipment for the wind turbines will be manufactured at Alstom’s plant in Bahia, Brazil, the company said.
Tractebel’s Trairi I wind project, also in Ceara, is already generating energy, with an installed capacity of 25 megawatts.
