Tom Perez, U.S. Secretary of Labor, says the June employment report is further confirmation of steady labor market recovery, noting the broad-based gain in jobs last month and applauding the rise in manufacturing workers. He says slow wage growth is a problem for workers, and that companies who are benefitting from the gains in productivity by their workers, and in turn higher profits, should be sharing this with their employees in the form of higher wages. Perez says faster economic growth which spurs more demand for labor is the best remedy for stagnant wages, and this could be aided by the President’s tax reform proposal. Perez speaks with Bloomberg’s Kathleen Hays on Bloomberg Radio’s "The Hays Advantage".
