Acciona to Construct Wastewater Treatment Network in Rio State

Acciona SA (ANA), a developer of wind, water and renewable energy projects, is helping construct a wastewater treatment and sewage network to serve 250,000 people in the second-largest city in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The Madrid-based company said today that its Acciona Agua unit along with the Brazilian companies Serveng and GEL had been awarded a 117 million-euro ($159 million) contract for water infrastructure works in Sao Goncalo from the environmental secretariat in Rio de Janeiro state. The project to be built over 36 months includes plans for environmental improvements to the Alcantara and Mutondo river basins, it said.
