CPFL Renovaveis Gets Approval for Four Brazil Wind Farms

CPFL Energias Renovaveis SA (CPRE3), Brazil’s biggest renewable-energy producer, received permission to operate four wind farms from the country’s power regulator.

The Pedra Preta, Costa Branca, Juremas and Macacos wind farms were authorized as of May 1, the company said in a regulatory filing June 20.

CPFL Renovaveis, a unit of Brazilian power utility CPFL Energia SA, has about 719 megawatts of installed wind power in the country and about 384 megawatts of wind capacity under construction, according to its website.

The four wind farms have 78.2 megawatts of capacity and comprise the Macacos Complex in the northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte.
