Dominion to Buy 20-Megawatt Solar Project in California From EDF

Dominion Resources Inc. (D), the third-largest U.S. utility owner, agreed to buy a 20-megawatt solar farm in central California from a U.S. unit of French utility Electricite de France SA.

The CID solar project near the city of Corcoran will deliver power to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. under a 20-year contract, San Diego-based EDF Renewable Energy said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

With the deal, Richmond, Virginia-based Dominion owns 232 megawatts of solar capacity, including 159 megawatts under construction in California.

Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) and NextEra Energy Inc. (NEE) are the largest U.S. utility owners by market value.
