Noble Said to Hire Hunt From Morgan Stanley’s to Head Gas

Noble Group Ltd. (NOBL) hired Dean Hunt, Morgan Stanley’s former head of European natural gas trading, to lead its U.K. unit for buying and selling the fuel, two people with knowledge of the appointment said.

Hunt has already left his post at the bank, two other people with knowledge of the move said. All four asked not to be identified because the appointment isn’t public.

E-mails to Hunt at the bank in London and a message to his LinkedIn Corp. account were returned with a note that he’s left the firm. Stephen Brown, a spokesman for Noble in Hong Kong, and Hugh Fraser, a spokesman for Morgan Stanley in London, declined to comment.

Noble is also restarting its liquefied natural gas trading from London, Gareth Griffiths, its global head of power and gas trading, said last month. Asia’s biggest commodities trader by sales hired Gabriel Gonzalez Laguna and Alejandro Sanchez Gestido from Bank of America Corp. to start this summer.

Morgan Stanley has more than 15 European power and gas traders, Fraser said May 9.
