MSG Scoreboard Partially Blank at Start of Rangers-Kings Game 3

Fans at the first New York Rangers home Stanley Cup finals game in 20 years experienced a scoreboard malfunction for the first 17 minutes of the first period against the Los Angeles Kings.

The clock and score on the arena’s video screens worked properly, but slots for statistics such as shots, faceoffs and hits remained blank. Media members were told that intermission stat sheets would be delayed.

The arena statistics showed on the screen with about three minutes remaining in the period with the score tied at 0-0.

The malfunction comes four days after the air conditioning broke down at the AT&T Center in San Antonio for Game 1 of the National Basketball Association Finals between the host Spurs and the Miami Heat.
