The nation will develop a 300-kilowatt wave farm in Zhuhai in the southern province of Guangdong and another project of a megawatt or more in Zhoushan in the eastern Zhejiang province, the newspaper said, citing Kang Jian, deputy director of the science and technology department of the State Oceanic Administration. The remaining project will develop wave and tidal power in Shandong province, the Daily said.
China targets 50 megawatts of offshore marine power plants by 2015, the report said. An expansion of the Jiangxia tidal range power project in Zhejiang is expected to be completed in September, which will increase annual capacity by 200,000 kilowatt hours, according to the report.
