Rangers Lead Kings 2-0 After First Period in Stanley Cup Game 2

Ryan McDonagh and Mats Zuccarello scored goals to give the visiting New York Rangers a 2-0 lead against the Los Angeles Kings after the first period of Game 2 in the Stanley Cup finals.

The Kings won the series opener 3-2 in overtime three nights ago in Los Angeles. Game 3 in the best-of-seven series is set for June 9 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

McDonagh opened the scoring midway through the period on a slapshot from the point, and Zuccarello made it 2-0 late in the period when he jammed a rebound past Los Angeles goal Jonathan Quick.
