Abengoa Completes 206-Megawatt Solar Farm in Southern California

Abengoa SA (ABG/P), the Spanish renewable-energy developer, completed a 206-megawatt solar farm in Southern California.

The Mount Signal Solar plant in Calexico will power about 72,000 homes in San Diego, Abengoa said today in a statement. The contract to design and build the project for Silver Ridge Power Inc. was worth $365 million.

More than one-quarter of Abengoa’s business is generated in the U.S., including a 280-megawatt solar-thermal plant expected to begin operations midyear, according to the statement.
