Canada’s Doer Says Keystone Makes Environmental Sense (Audio)

Gary Doer, Canada’s ambassador to the U.S. says Canada has alternatives to the Keystone XL pipeline for getting oil from the Canadian tar sands to Gulf of Mexico refineries. Doer says if it doesn’t come down specifically via a built-out Keystone XL pipeline, it will continue to be transported to Gulf refineries by train in ever increasing amounts. Doer says there are also proposals to transport Canadian oil via pipelines to the West or East coasts of Canada before being refined elsewhere – India for example. Ambassador Doer also discusses the Canadian economy and Canadian dollar as well as trade more broadly with the U.S. Doer speaks with Bloomberg’s Kathleen Hays and Vonnie Quinn on Bloomberg Radio’s "The Hays Advantage”.
